Excursion Wine Experience Wachau (49 € p.P.)
Today's excursion takes you to Göttweig Abbey. In 2000, it was included as part of the "cultural landscape Wachau" together with the old city centre of Krems and Melk Abbey in the list of UNESCO World Heritage. After the guided tour you will continue on to the city of Krems. With its more than 1000 years of history, the city is a contemporary witness to Austria's rich wine-growing traditions. Like mighty sky climbs, the wine routes of the Wachau line the banks of the mighty river, where the sun allows the noblest product of this landscape to thrive, the wine. Remains of the Austrian Limes, medieval castles, baroque monasteries and arcade houses from the Renaissance - they all document the history of this area. Here we invite you to a glass of wine.
Excursion Danube Bend (49 € p.P.)
Esztergom, the old residence town of the Hungarian kings and seat of the archbishop, is one of the highlights of this excursion. The basilica is the largest church in Hungary. Along the Danube we continue to the Visegrád castle ruins, from where you have a wonderful view over the Danube bend. Afterwards you drive to the small artist village of Szentendre. Here you can visit the museum of Margit Kovàcs.
City tour Budapest by bus / foot (35 € p.P.)
From the pier you drive to Heroes square - Hösök tere with monuments of many Hungarian kings and the Millennium Monument. On both sides of the beautiful parade square you can see important buildings of new and old art. On the way you will discover many familiar and unknown things of this traditional city - magnificent baroque buildings, the Parliament on the banks of the Danube and the famous Chain Bridge. You walk through the old castle district and reach the Matthias Church - the coronation church of the Hungarian kings. From the church stretches the Fisherman's Bastion with a magnificent view of the Danube and the Parliament.
Excursion Budapest by night (49 € p.P.)
A fascinating journey through the illuminated Budapest. After a short stop on the Castle Hill and a view of Pest, you drive to the First Budapest Strudel House. Here you take part in a strudel tasting (2 different kinds) with Tokaj wine. You return to your ship in a relaxed mood.
Excursion Apaj-Puszta (49 € p.P.)
After about one hour drive you will reach the puszta of Apaj. You will be warmly welcomed with schnapps and salty snacks (pogatsche). The next item on the program is a horse show of the Tschikoschen, followed by a carriage ride through the puszta. A plate of traditional Hungarian food, as well as white and red wine will be served afterwards. Gypsy music will be played.
City tour Bratislava by foot (29 € p.P.)
The tour starts at the pier and takes you through udovít ?túr Square - once Coronation Square - to the National Theatre in Hviezdoslav Square. It continues along the promenade past St. Martin's Cathedral, the former coronation cathedral of the Hungarian kings, to the historical centre of the town. The historic alleys lead through the old town with its numerous palaces from the 18th century and to the Michaeler Gate from the 13th century. On the main square you will see many sights, such as the Old Town Hall, the Maximilian Fountain, palaces, an Art Nouveau building, several cafes and also the historic Mayer pastry shop. Only a few steps from the main square you can buy typical Slovak products. Here you can try the typical Bratislava croissants with nut and poppy seed filling. Afterwards the tour continues, passing the opera and the Ganymedes Fountain and back to the ship.
Excursion "Small Carpathians" (59 € p.P.)
During the excursion travel to the west of Slovakia. You will drive through the villages Pezinok, Modrá to Castá. Above the village there is the once royal castle, the castle Cervený Kamen or also called Beaver Castle. Here you can see the collection of historical furniture and furnishings. Furthermore, a wine tasting (4 wines) with cheese awaits you in a typical wine cellar. You will learn interesting facts about the history of viticulture in the Little Carpathians and end this trip with a glass of wine before returning to the ship.
City tour Vienna by bus / foot (35 € p.P.)
The city tour starts at the landing pier and leads you to the Prater and Ringstraße past the Schottentor, the "Votivkirche", the "2er Linie", the town hall, the Palais Auersperg, the "Volkstheater", the "Museumsquartier" up to the Karlsplatz and the Art museum Albertina. This is where the guided tour of the city centre begins with the Albertina, the famous Spanish Riding School, the Hofburg - Vienna, Michaelerplatz and Kohlmarkt, the moat in the old town as well as St. Stephen's Square with the Gothic St. Stephen's Cathedral - affectionately called "Steffl" by the Viennese. Here you have time at your free disposal. Enjoy a delicious coffee and a piece of Sachertorte in one of the many small cafés. Afterwards you will return to the Albertina together and take the bus back to Schwarzenbergplatz via the Vienna State Opera and Karlsplatz. The tour continues along the Stadtpark, to Franzensbrücke and Praterstern and end our city tour at the pier.
Excursion Schönbrunn Palace with sparkling wine cellar (59 € p.P.)
From the landing pier you will travel to the imperial summer residence Schönbrunn Palace, where you will see the highlights. With its outbuildings and extensive park, it is one of the most important cultural monuments in Austria. In the long-standing summer residence of the Habsburgs you will visit the state rooms and afterwards you will have the opportunity to take a walk in the beautifully laid out gardens of the palace. The excursion is rounded off with a visit to a sparkling wine cellar. During the tour of the cellar you will learn a lot about the production process and during the tasting you can convince yourself of the taste.
Excursion Vienna by night (49 € p.P.)
An experience where you will get to know Vienna's nocturnal magic. The Prater - Viennese amusement park - invites you to look over the illuminated Vienna from the heights of the Giant Ferris Wheel. An unforgettable sight! Afterwards your tour leads you along the Ringstrasse, past the beautifully illuminated magnificent buildings to the wine village of Grinzing. In a typical Heurigen (wine tavern) you will experience the Viennese cosiness with a "Viertel Wein" (quarter wine), spreadable bread and music.
Excursion Wachau incl. Melk Abbey (49 € p.P.)
The first destination is the over 900-year-old baroque Melk Abbey with its unique abbey park. Eye-catcher on the first level is the baroque garden pavilion. Melk Abbey has been inhabited by Benedictine monks since its foundation. Afterwards you drive through the beautiful landscape to the beautifully situated wine village Dürnstein. After a short walk you continue through the wine roads where the sun allows the noblest product of this landscape to flourish, the wine. At the end of the excursion you will take part in a wine tasting.

The modern and comfortable cabins (15 m²) and suites (22 m²) on the Danube/Panorama deck and Rhine/Oberdeck have French balconies with opening panorama windows. For security reasons, the windows on the main deck cannot be opened.
The two suites on board the DCS Amethyst are also equipped with a sitting area and a spacious bathroom. All cabins have double beds (can be set as twin beds), shower and WC, TV, radio, air conditioning (individually adjustable), telephone, safe and hairdryer.
Culinary delight
Enjoy a culinary round trip on board the DCS Amethyst with an extensive breakfast buffet as well as multi-course lunch and dinner menus and regional specialities in a stylish atmosphere. You can also choose from a variety of vegetarian dishes with all meals. We also offer a daily changing wine and drink menu with regional wines and a special cocktail of the day at a special price.
Your river cruise begins with a hearty soup at embarkation. In the evening the captain and his crew will invite you to a welcome cocktail followed by a welcome dinner. In addition we will spoil you during your river cruise along the Danube on board the DCS Amethyst with afternoon tea, coffee and cake or after an impressive excursion day with a midnight snack.

Today's excursion takes you to Göttweig Abbey. In 2000, it was included as part of the "cultural landscape Wachau" together with the old city centre of Krems and Melk Abbey in the list of UNESCO World Heritage. After the guided tour you will continue on to the city of Krems. With its more than 1000 years of history, the city is a contemporary witness to Austria's rich wine-growing traditions. Like mighty sky climbs, the wine routes of the Wachau line the banks of the mighty river, where the sun allows the noblest product of this landscape to thrive, the wine. Remains of the Austrian Limes, medieval castles, baroque monasteries and arcade houses from the Renaissance - they all document the history of this area. Here we invite you to a glass of wine.
Excursion Danube Bend (49 € p.P.)
Esztergom, the old residence town of the Hungarian kings and seat of the archbishop, is one of the highlights of this excursion. The basilica is the largest church in Hungary. Along the Danube we continue to the Visegrád castle ruins, from where you have a wonderful view over the Danube bend. Afterwards you drive to the small artist village of Szentendre. Here you can visit the museum of Margit Kovàcs.
City tour Budapest by bus / foot (35 € p.P.)
From the pier you drive to Heroes square - Hösök tere with monuments of many Hungarian kings and the Millennium Monument. On both sides of the beautiful parade square you can see important buildings of new and old art. On the way you will discover many familiar and unknown things of this traditional city - magnificent baroque buildings, the Parliament on the banks of the Danube and the famous Chain Bridge. You walk through the old castle district and reach the Matthias Church - the coronation church of the Hungarian kings. From the church stretches the Fisherman's Bastion with a magnificent view of the Danube and the Parliament.
Excursion Budapest by night (49 € p.P.)
A fascinating journey through the illuminated Budapest. After a short stop on the Castle Hill and a view of Pest, you drive to the First Budapest Strudel House. Here you take part in a strudel tasting (2 different kinds) with Tokaj wine. You return to your ship in a relaxed mood.
Excursion Apaj-Puszta (49 € p.P.)
After about one hour drive you will reach the puszta of Apaj. You will be warmly welcomed with schnapps and salty snacks (pogatsche). The next item on the program is a horse show of the Tschikoschen, followed by a carriage ride through the puszta. A plate of traditional Hungarian food, as well as white and red wine will be served afterwards. Gypsy music will be played.
City tour Bratislava by foot (29 € p.P.)
The tour starts at the pier and takes you through udovít ?túr Square - once Coronation Square - to the National Theatre in Hviezdoslav Square. It continues along the promenade past St. Martin's Cathedral, the former coronation cathedral of the Hungarian kings, to the historical centre of the town. The historic alleys lead through the old town with its numerous palaces from the 18th century and to the Michaeler Gate from the 13th century. On the main square you will see many sights, such as the Old Town Hall, the Maximilian Fountain, palaces, an Art Nouveau building, several cafes and also the historic Mayer pastry shop. Only a few steps from the main square you can buy typical Slovak products. Here you can try the typical Bratislava croissants with nut and poppy seed filling. Afterwards the tour continues, passing the opera and the Ganymedes Fountain and back to the ship.
Excursion "Small Carpathians" (59 € p.P.)
During the excursion travel to the west of Slovakia. You will drive through the villages Pezinok, Modrá to Castá. Above the village there is the once royal castle, the castle Cervený Kamen or also called Beaver Castle. Here you can see the collection of historical furniture and furnishings. Furthermore, a wine tasting (4 wines) with cheese awaits you in a typical wine cellar. You will learn interesting facts about the history of viticulture in the Little Carpathians and end this trip with a glass of wine before returning to the ship.

The city tour starts at the landing pier and leads you to the Prater and Ringstraße past the Schottentor, the "Votivkirche", the "2er Linie", the town hall, the Palais Auersperg, the "Volkstheater", the "Museumsquartier" up to the Karlsplatz and the Art museum Albertina. This is where the guided tour of the city centre begins with the Albertina, the famous Spanish Riding School, the Hofburg - Vienna, Michaelerplatz and Kohlmarkt, the moat in the old town as well as St. Stephen's Square with the Gothic St. Stephen's Cathedral - affectionately called "Steffl" by the Viennese. Here you have time at your free disposal. Enjoy a delicious coffee and a piece of Sachertorte in one of the many small cafés. Afterwards you will return to the Albertina together and take the bus back to Schwarzenbergplatz via the Vienna State Opera and Karlsplatz. With its outbuildings and extensive park, it is one of the most important cultural monuments in Austria. The excursion is rounded off with a visit to a sparkling wine cellar. An experience where you will get to know Vienna's nocturnal magic. The Prater - Viennese amusement park - invites you to look over the illuminated Vienna from the heights of the Giant Ferris Wheel. An unforgettable sight! Afterwards your tour leads you along the Ringstrasse, past the beautifully illuminated magnificent buildings to the wine village of Grinzing. In a typical Heurigen (wine tavern) you will experience the Viennese cosiness with a "Viertel Wein" (quarter wine), spreadable bread and music.

The first destination is the over 900-year-old baroque Melk Abbey with its unique abbey park. Eye-catcher on the first level is the baroque garden pavilion. Melk Abbey has been inhabited by Benedictine monks since its foundation. Afterwards you drive through the beautiful landscape to the beautifully situated wine village Dürnstein. After a short walk you continue through the wine roads where the sun allows the noblest product of this landscape to flourish, the wine. The modern and comfortable cabins (15 m²) and suites (22 m²) on the Danube/Panorama deck and Rhine/Oberdeck have French balconies with opening panorama windows. For security reasons, the windows on the main deck cannot be opened.
